Are you an international student or recent graduate looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? Applications are now open for the 2025 Lounge Ambassador Program—an incredible opportunity to grow professionally, develop leadership skills, and help make The Lounge a welcoming hub for international students in Geelong.
This is your chance to grow both personally and professionally while supporting other international students.
As a Lounge Ambassador, you’ll play a key role in supporting international students by promoting our services, helping plan events, and representing The Lounge at community activities. Along the way, you’ll gain valuable professional development training, enhance your CV, and build friendships with like-minded peers.
Our ambassadors aren’t just part of the program; they help shape it. You’ll rotate through different teams—social media, event planning, and special projects—ensuring your experience is both diverse and rewarding. Whether you’re helping organize a cultural festival or spreading awareness through creative posts, every day will bring a new opportunity to make a difference!
Our past ambassadors have loved the ability to rotate through teams, saying it gave them a full picture of how The Lounge supports international students. We’ll be sharing their stories and advice through short videos during the application period, so keep an eye out!
What Will You Do?
Represent The Lounge: Be the face of our international student community at events and initiatives.
Support Events: Help plan and deliver events that foster connection and growth.
Social Media Advocacy: Share your ambassador journey and promote The Lounge to inspire others.
Leadership Growth: Participate in professional training to boost your confidence and skills.

Eligibility Requirements
This program is open to international students and graduates enrolled in a Geelong institution (for at least one trimester). Applicants must:
Be 18 years or older.
Commit to attending at least one Lounge event weekly (commitments may vary).
Have or be willing to apply for a Volunteer Working With Children Check.
Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Submit your CV (no longer than two pages) with one personal or professional referee.
Create a short video (maximum 2 minutes) telling us why you’d make a great Lounge Ambassador.
Review the Position Description for detailed role responsibilities and expectations.

Key Dates
Applications Close: 8pm on Monday, 30 December 2024.
Group Interviews: Thursday, 16 January 2025, from 4.30pm to 6.00pm in Geelong.
Induction Session: Thursday, 24 January 2025, from 9am to 3pm.
